About Charles S. Partin, architect & sculptor

Charles Partin's career as an architect spans four decades. For more than 25 years he was sole proprietor of Partin Studios, a successful architectural practice in Pasco County, Florida, designing award-winning schools, homes, office buildings and more than 50 church projects. Always finding the creative process the most fulfilling part of architecture, Charlie moved his work in 1995 toward his love of art and sculpting, with a natural focus on monumental carved brick sculptures. His interest in nature and spiritual matters is manifest in many of his works.

As a RAKU ceramic artist, he has exhibited in shows and galleries in Florida, California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Quebec.

Charlie served for 22 years on the national board of directors of the Interfaith Forum for Religion Art and Architecture and for five years as national design consultant for the Disciples of Christ Christ Church, working on projects as varied as the renovation of a 100-year-old Seattle church or helping a Miami church recover from Hurricane Andrew. As a charter member, Charlie helped form The Pasco County Arts Council and served on its board of directors for more than 30 years.

At various times he has served on the boards of directors of: the Pasco County Code Enforcement Board, City of New Port Richey Code Enforcement Board, and the steering committee for the Pasco County Comprehensive Plan.

Charlie studied with Bauhaus-trained sculptor Fredriech Holschou and received his BFA in sculpture, a minor in art history and a DIS in figure studies from Florida State University, and a BA in architecture from the University of Florida. He lives and works in New Port Richey, Florida; Steel City, Nebraska; and Crestone, Colorado. He produces his larger brick murals at the mural studios of Endicott Brick Company, Endicott, Nebraska.
